How to set up your device
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into your device and the other end into your TV. Make a note of which HDMI input you use.
- Choose your internet connection — connect an ethernet cable from the device to your gateway, or select Wi-Fi later during setup.
- Insert the power cord into the back of the device, then plug it into a wall outlet. A red light will blink on the front of the device.
- Turn on your TV and switch to the correct input using your TV remote's Input or Source button.
- Remove the battery tag from your DIRECTV remote.
- Follow the on-screen prompts:
- Pair the remote by pointing it at the device and holding FAST FORWARD and REWIND together for 2–3 seconds.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password (if not using a wired connection).
- Enter your user ID and password to sign in.
- Accept the Terms & Conditions.
- Select or enter your room location for your in-home network.
- Enter your Google ID and password, if applicable.
